Measure the drawer floor

The organizer is approximately 100 × 200 × 40 mm. Check the narrowest part of the drawer floor rather than only its upper opening. Slides, rounded corners and dividers can reduce the usable footprint.

A tray may fit while a tall object inside it still catches the top of the drawer. Record the combined height of the tray and the items. Do not infer usable clearance from the outside height of a desk.

Group items by the return action

Keep objects that are used together in a manageable group. Pens, clips and charging accessories do not need separate tiny compartments if this makes returning them awkward. A simple layout can be easier to maintain.

Use the divider to match the objects you own rather than purchasing objects to fill the tray. Check their longest dimension and leave enough room to pick them up without pulling the whole organizer out.
